Ford has a new engine under it’s 2011 hood, with a new grill to accommodate its all new engine.

It’s the all new, Ford designed ‘Scorpion’ 6.7-liter V8 diesel engine that will replace the current Navistar supplied 6.4-liter V8 Power Stroke by 2011.

The Scorpion will also use lighter aluminum cylinder heads, abandoning the cast-iron heads in the current 6.4 liter Power Stroke. And a (CGI) compacted graphite iron engine block.

Power targets are said to be about. 390hp & 720lb-ft of torque. Today’s Power Stroke V8 is rated at a more ’sedate’ 350hp 350lb-ft of torque. Scorpion fuel economy is expected to be increased by at least 3 miles per gallon (mpg) versus the current engine 6.4 Navistar powerstroke. Helping the Scorpions mileage will be a new 6-speed automatic, like in the 2009 F-150.

With that said we will be selling the current 2009's and 2010's with increased rebates. Contact your local dealer for more information.

We have the Sport with the sport suspension and new 3.5 DOHC V6 with 263 Horsepower and 6 speed Select shift Auto Transmission.

I went for a cruise in the Hybrid and was really impressed with the drive & was surprised on how quit it was. I was also able to go over 40 MPG under the electric power on my first try after 1 mile of driving. I'm sure once some one gets a handle on the car they will be able to be more efficient. The Fusion is capable of more than 700 miles on a tank of fuel. Able to run on pure electric up to 47.

Ford Fusion Hybrid EPA rating 41/36

2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid has an EPA city/highway rating of 41/36 miles per gallon.

The Toyota Prius hybrid is mid-size, and it manages 48/45 miles per gallon on the EPA's city/highway cycle. But it is marketed and perceived by most consumers as a compact.

That leaves the mid-size Toyota Camry (33/34), Nissan Altima (35/38) and Chevrolet Malibu (26/34) as the Fusion Hybrid's direct competitors.

Honda sells the Civic Hybrid, a compact with a rating of 40/45, which beats the Fusion on the highway. Honda had a hybrid Accord, but dropped it because of poor sales. But the Fusion has a higher city rating!

More about the Fusions Systems;

The Fusion's regenerative braking system, which recovers up to 94 percent of braking energy (the electric motor does the bulk of the braking, turning into a generator and using the recovered power to recharge the battery pack). Thus brake pads are expected to last three to five times longer.

Ford stacked the battery pack behind the rear seat.

The Fusion can reach 47 mph on electric power alone – provided you have the right touch on the throttle.

You don't feel the gasoline engine kick in or cut out because of the power train control module is calibrated to ease the transition.
